Meet the Impact Awards finalists

Written by Lucy Wakeford, Communications Coordinator, DigitalAgenda

DigitalAgenda is proud to announce the finalists for the 2020 Impact Awards – our fourth annual celebration of UK tech for good.

The 36 finalists come from all across the UK, with innovations from Belfast, Glasgow, Sheffield, Salford, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Bristol, among others. We have a wide range of tech for good leaders, including startups, individuals, government initiatives and nonprofits.

You can see the full list of finalists, and vote for your favourite in the coveted People’s Choice award, here.

The 2020 Impact Awards received over 650 nominations this year, and our judges had an incredibly tough time shortlisting the entries to only three per category. The strength of applications this year has really shown the development of the UK impact economy in the last year.

A two-stage judging process has seen our expert judging panel vet entries across our three overriding themes of people, society and business. For the final stage of the judging process, our 36 finalists will be pitching to our panel in the next few weeks, to allow them to decide on a final winner in each category.

We’d like to thank everyone who took the time to enter the awards this year, and we hope that you will all be encouraged to enter again. Previous winners of the Impact Awards have won on their second or third entry.

We will unveil the 2020 awards winners at our Impact Summit & Awards ceremony in March. Winners receive a laser-etched trophy, presented on the day, and all 36 finalists will be invited to join the DigitalAgenda network – our growing programme of support across the year to come.

At the March awards event, we celebrate UK tech for good with an audience of innovators, investors, policymakers and academics. The evening breaks with the conventional ‘black-tie-and-table’ awards format, combining conference and awards ceremony with engaging on-stage content.

As well as unveiling our category winners, we will have great speakers, sharing their stories alongside a tech for good innovation showcase. The event also builds in time for guests to connect, particularly at our evening reception, where we will be giving out the coveted People’s Choice award.

You don’t have to be a finalist to attend the awards event – we want to welcome guests from the whole UK tech for good community. You can find out more and book your tickets via our Impact Awards ceremony page.
